The North American Charging Standard (NACS) may include the word “standard” but is in fact the product of just one company: US EV OEM Tesla.

And while the two biggest US automakers, Ford and GM (see Fig.1), have recently signed up to adopt NACS, it is not clear what, if any, input they will have in its future development.
