A key figure in the party favoured to win the UK's next election promises the country's EV automaking industry more effective government support going forward. But will it be in time to stop a manufacturer exodus?

Opinion polls suggest that the leftist Labour party will replace the rightist incumbent Conservatives when UK voters are afforded a general election that must take place no later than early 2025 and is likely to be earlier. Clarity on future political support for a full battery value chain to supply EV manufacturing cannot come soon enough for automakers, MPs caution.
