Seven seater vehicle will be built on Stellantis STLA Medium Platform
Stellantis brand Peugeot has launched its new E-5008, a seven seater all-electric SUV built on the STLA Medium platform.
The vehicles will be built at Stellantis’ Sochaux plant in France and will be equipped with nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) lithium-ion batteries manufactured at ACC’s gigafactory in Douvrin, France.
“The new E-5008 is the only model in its segment to offer 100pc electric mobility for seven passengers,” says the Peugeot release.
The vehicle will go on sale in the autumn of 2024 in two trims — Allure and GT.
The battery is guaranteed for eight years or 160,000 km for 70pc of its charging capacity.
Both versions will have the choice of three electric motors — 157 kW, 170 kW and 237 kW.
Two types of on-board chargers are available for AC charging, an 11 kW three-phase charger as standard and an optional 22 kW three-phase charger.
Charging from 20pc to 80pc can be completed in 30 minutes.
The vehicle will also be available as a hybrid and a plug-in hybrid model.
Stellantis unveiled the STLA Medium Platform last year to host a variety of vehicles and propulsion configurations in the the C and D segments.
It is the first of four global BEV platforms (small, medium, large, frame) that underpin the company’s plan to reach a 100pc passenger car BEV mix in Europe by 2030.
