New long-range Peugeot versions get range homologation
Stellantis boast boasts best-in-class figures for the E-3008 and E-5008
The official worldwide harmonised light vehicle test procedure, or WLTP, ranges for the new long-range versions of Peugeot’s E-3008 and E-5008 e-SUVs have been officially homologated at 700km and 668km respectively.
For the long-range versions, the new Peugeots boast a 230 hp/170 kW powertrain. This new option complements the standard 210 hp/157 kW powertrain, which offers up to 527 km, for the E-3008, or 502 km, for the E-5008, of range.
Both models also promise improvements in Mode 4 charging time, accepting up to 160kW of power on superchargers, meaning 27 minutes to go from 20pc to 80pc of charge, or 150km in 10 minutes, according to Peugeot owner Stellantis. They will also benefit from a new battery pre-conditioning system, allowing for optimised charging times during long journeys.
The new vehicles will be manufactured in Sochaux in eastern France and equipped with batteries produced at the ACC, the joint venture between Stellantis, Mercedes and the battery arm of French oil major TotalEnergies, gigafactory in Douvrin. Peugeot plans to premier them at next month’s Paris Motor Show.
The E-5008 was launched in March, but with first sales not due until the autumn. Stellantis this summer trumpeted orders of the BEV version of the E-3008 at 12,500.
