Another executive signs on as as start-up hovers close to bankruptcy
Struggling EV start-up Fisker has added to its management team, with Saydulu Kolasani joining the company as SVP for Enterprise, Digital Operations and Transformation.
The hire is the latest in a string of additions to Fisker's upper ranks in recent weeks.
"We continue to add managerial leadership and expertise as we shift into our next phase of growth,” says CEO Henrik Fisker.
Kolasani will run the company's digital and technology strategy, overseeing: cybersecurity, digital platforms, enterprise systems, architecture, data and operations.
“Saydulu brings exceptional experience and capability to the company and I’m excited to work with him on refining our innovations and technologies," says Fisker.
Kolasani is also tasked with helping the company improve its in-vehicle software and information systems.
He has no previous EV experience but has worked on digital platforms for companies in the electronics and telecommunications sectors, as well as most recently for cosmetics brand Nu Skin.
While the automaker emphasises the importance of the software-defined vehicle to its brand missions, digital platforms may strike some onlookers as a perplexing priority while the company faces more fundamental issues.
Fisker is currently struggling with liquidity, vehicle delivery, and order demand.
The company's shares hit an all-time low following a fourth quarter earnings call on Thursday, where the start-up revealed that its planned product launches may be scrapped unless a collaboration agreement with an unnamed OEM partner can be struck.
