Finnish EV charging services firm EVA Global has filed for bankruptcy, as the charging sector continues to prove challenging in the current environment of slower-than-expected EV adoption
EVA Global provides charging session support for customers and network monitoring and remote management service for charger owners and operators.
According to its website, partners it works with include EV Box, Nima, BP Pulse, Road, IE Charge, Ionity, Kempower, Mer, Plugsurfing, Allego, Greenflux, Eon, Hubject, Renault, Siemens, Osprey, Has to be, Vattenfall, Freshmile, Gofast, Alfen, Fastned and Spirii.
“EVA Global is used by almost everyone in the industry for their support-as-a-service,” says Casper Rasmussen, CEO of Danish charging firm Monta, suggesting that any interruption in the firm company’s operations could be materially disruptive to Europe’s charging infrastructure.
The decision comes after a comprehensive evaluation of the company's financial position, operational challenges, and the broader economic and industry environment, EVA Global says. Its management team is working with the company’s administrators to seek ways to minimise service impact on its customers to ensure continued operations.
