“The overall ramp-up of the battery electric vehicle will be slightly slower than on the passenger car side,” admits Mathis Geisen, head of vans at Stuttgart-based Mercedes-Benz, even as the firm launched its new Van.ea architecture which will be used to develop all new midsize and large electric vans for commercial and private use from 2026.
